Year-End Party

We invited graduate students out to the Hawk's Nest for a year-end celebration from the top of the campus. The semi-formal night featured live music by Laurier legends Blackwater Trio, free drinks for early arrivals, appetizers, & desserts.

For those stuck wishing "Spring Break" actually meant sunshine and sandy beaches, we transformed the Grad Lounge into a tropical getaway! Tropical beverages with umbrellas, live music, summer-themed trivia, wakeboarding & other sports (courtesy of Wii Resort), and special events throughout the evening were guaranteed to make you feel like summer is just around the corner!!

In the spirit of the New Year, we provided the perfect atmosphere for those whose resolution was to start writing, finish writing, analyze that data, or just to get in gear for your graduate studies,.
Grad students from all faculties came together for a motivating and productive session with their fellow graduate students! Hot beverages and snacks were provided, along with a quiet, comfortable work environment - complete with motivating messages around the room!

Hot Docs: Who Killed the Electric Car?

The second film in the "Change and Innovation" documentary series. Electric vehicles could be part of the solution to the coming energy crisis - so why aren't we seeing more of them, when they've been around for over a decade? The documentary was followed by a discussion led by faculty from both Laurier and the University of Waterloo.
Winterlude End-of-Term Party

Grad students got a chance to relax after working hard all semester, and came out sporting their best holiday ensembles to listen to live music, & enjoy appetizers and toasty winter beverages.
