Housing
On-Campus
Spaces in residences for graduate students are available, but limited. The online application is available in early March, and spaces fill up within a couple of months. We recommend you get your application submitted within the month of March.
Off-Campus
Here are some places you can search for off-campus housing in Kitchener/Waterloo:
- Laurier off-campus housing listings. Visit Rental Listings > Search. You can specify "Graduate/Senior Students" under Occupant Type.
- University of Waterloo off-campus housing listings. You can specify "grad/mature" under Occupant Type in the Advanced Search here as well.
- KW & Area Rental Classifieds (linked to from The Kitchener Waterloo Record)
- Kitchener and Waterloo GottaRent.ca listings
Transportation
Something to keep in mind when looking for a place to live is how you'll be getting to campus. You have a year-round bus pass included in your ancillary fee, so you always have the option of taking the bus, and Laurier is right on a number of routes that run quite frequently (see the Grand River Transit website for route and schedule information). There is also a great deal of housing within walking distance of the university. Daytime parking is very limited on campus, it can be hard to get a parking pass, and you cannot opt out of the bus pass, so keep those things in mind if you're thinking about driving to campus regularly.
