GSA Board of Directors
Volunteer Position
The Board of Directors represents the interests of graduate students at Laurier who are members of the GSA, provides strategic direction expressed in broad policies, and offers clear future oriented leadership, outward vision and a broad range of viewpoints. Composition of the Board includes character, talent, and loyalty to the GSA, and fosters diversity into the whole of the organization.
The Board directs, monitors and inspires the organization through strategies and policies that are forward looking, including the influence of external factors and trends and capturing relevant values for the successful outcomes and conduct of the GSA.
Our Board meets approximately once per month for a few hours.

President & CEO
Salaried Position
The President and CEO oversees and leads the Operations Team and serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. In addition, the President & CEO is responsible for the creation and implementation of an annual plan derived from the Board’s Strategic Plan. They also manage all external relationships and serve as an ambassador of the corporation.

Vice President
Hourly Position, up to 20 hours a week, 1 year term
As the Vice President you will report to the President & CEO and work with them to champion and advocate for supports and services related to the wellness and success of all Laurier graduate students.
In addition, you will:
Be a member of the GSA’s all staff team
Collaborate with University partners to ensure implementation of supports and services related to the wellness and success of graduate students
Be involved in creating ideas for and implementing events, initiatives, and programming for all types of graduate students
Work closely with members of the GSA management team to carry out the mission and vision of the organization
Be a key stakeholder in the execution of the GSA Annual Plan

Volunteer Position with Honorarium, 1 year term
The GSA President & CEO will convene a faculty representative advocacy council to hear from members of the graduate student community and advocate on their behalf. Positions will be:

Responsibilities include connecting with graduate students within the faculty and bringing forward ideas to the council. Representatives will also serve on Graduate Faculty Council and other committees as required.
Laurier Grad Student Board of Governor
Volunteer Position with Honorarium, 2 year term
Student positions on Laurier’s Senate and Board provide unique learning & leadership experiences. Through your participation, you can bring the student perspective to these governing bodies and have an impact on the University’s future.
As a Governor, you will:
Add a student perspective and your own personal experiences and observations to help make decisions
Have impact as a role model in the Laurier community
Participate in developing and sustaining positive change in campus, local, national and global communities
Develop your leadership skills
Build meaningful interpersonal relationships
Model social responsibility

Community Ambassadors
Hourly Position, 20-25 hours a month, 6 month term with option to renew
This GSA is seeking dynamic and outgoing graduate students to join our team as Community Ambassadors. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a sense of community among graduate students, both in-person and online. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, approachable, and passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment for their peers.
